Young Cuffy and Captain Gallant have adventures in the desert with the French Foreign Legion. This variant issue, sponsored by the Heinz food company, features a Heinz "57 Varieties" ad on the inside back cover, and a Junior Legionnaires Membership Certificate bearing the Heinz logo on the back cover. Fuzzy enters his beloved camel Josephine in a camel race, but his competitors want to sabotage her chances. Gallant and company set out to rescue a kidnapped American woman.
