July 31, 1915. Illustrated Chips was a weekly newspaper of comics and stories. Its most popular feature was "Weary Willie and Tired Tim, the World Famous Tramps." 10.75 in. x 14.75 in.; black and white; 8 pages. Published in London by newspaper magnate Alfred Harmsworth, it ran from 1890 to 1953. (See also "The Butterfly.")

Volume 45, Issue 3 - July, 1915. McClure's was a popular mass-market magazine. This issue features the true story of a woman married to a drunkard - and a gentle man in "The Woman Behind the Bottle" with illustrations by F. Walter Taylor. Other stories include "The Shoes of Mathewson" by Grantland Rice, "The Conquest of America in 1921" where author Cleveland Moffet paints a vivid picture of the fierce fighting at Trenton and naval fighting in the Caribbean, as found in the notebook of James E. Langston, who was a war correspondent for the London Times - beautifully illustrated by Henry Reuthrdahl, "K" the story of a great mystery, a wonderful girl, and - "K" written by Mary Roberts Rinehart, "Handsome Mr. Smith" by George Weston, "One Day - And Another" by Dana Gatlin, "Twelve Dollars" by Wilson Preston, "Beltane the Strong" by Jeffery Farnol, and a full page of Charlie Chaplin expressions registered by Chaplin Himself.
