Published in London by newspaper magnate Alfred Harmsworth, it ran from 1890 to 1953. (See also "The Butterfly.")

Langston, who was a war correspondent for the London Times - beautifully illustrated by Henry Reuthrdahl, "K" the story of a great mystery, a wonderful girl, and - "K" written by Mary Roberts Rinehart, "Handsome Mr. Smith" by George Weston, "One Day - And Another" by Dana Gatlin, "Twelve Dollars" by Wilson Preston, "Beltane the Strong" by Jeffery Farnol, and a full page of Charlie Chaplin expressions registered by Chaplin Himself.
