Long running Chicago-based vintage magazine for magicians, The Sphinx was dominated by the golden-age of magic, showing readers a behind-the-scenes look at how intricate tricks can be achieved, with later issues showcasing smaller, more modest tricks that would appeal to a younger audience. Early issues also included exposure on Vaudeville, and during it's run support was given by contributors such as Theodore Annemann, Al Baker, Milbourne Christopher, Joseph Dunninger, Robert Harbin, Ed Marlo, John Scame, Harlan Tarbell, and Martin Gardner just to name a few. 8.5" x 11.5", 24 pages, B&W.
