Movie cowboy Monte Hale wanders the frontier, cleaning up the West one outlaw at a time. When cattle barons make war on each other to win the right to supply railway workers, Monte's old enemy The Gravedigger is hired to make things worse. Bumbling hero Gabby Hayes is sent out from Fort Gooseberry to ride for reinforcements before a siege.
