Cover by Carl Barks. Stories and art by Carl Barks, Vic Lockman, Tony Strobl, Steve Steere, Don Christensen and Paul Murry. Sometimes listed as Vol. 26 #1. The long-running vehicle for Disney character comics featured art by Carl Barks, the legendary Good Duck Artist. Mickey and Goofy star in a parody of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. In a story by Barks, Donald becomes a genius after a blow to the head and creates a new rocket fuel. This story is famous among certain segments of the scientific community for Donald's casual (and coincidental) mention of a rare chemical compound amidst his pseudo-scientific gobbledygook. This issue, in addition to reprinting the story, includes an article about the scientific buzz around the story since its original appearance. In another story, Daisy is worried when she gets a letter from Grandma Duck that seems tear-stained. The Walt Disney Theater: 20,000 Weeds Under The Sea; Daisy Duck's Diary: Too Much Help; Donald Duck, Scientist Deluxe; Donald Duck: The Mad Chemist; Mad Madam Mim: A Wolf in Wolf's Clothing. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.12.
