Reprint story from Brave and the Bold #19: "The Challenge of the Flying Horse," script by Bob Haney, art by Joe Kubert; To complete his latest task, Jon climbs a mountain where a great sea eagle has its perch, his goal to collect a single feather from it's wing. However, he's visited by Merlin who asks the Demon to go and see him at Tintagel the next day; While in pursuit of the monster, the Demon is captured by Batman, and he, Matthews, and Randu are forced to reveal to Batman the Demon's double identity. Gotham City meanwhile is suddenly swarmed by giant roots that have sprouted from the ground; These roots come from seeds that have been dumped in the city water supply and grow to alarming sizes once exposed to the air; During the chaos, the people of Gotham City blame the plants on the Swamp Thing, and the government uses this as a moment to try and capture him for examination; Batman gets in the middle and frees the Swamp Thing and asks for his help in dispelling the roots. In spite of this, Batman decides to check things out and to see if his old friend Ted "Wild Cat" Grant - who now operates a health-spa on the island - knows anything about the illegals that El Zapatero smuggles through there.
