Early in the transformation of comic strips to comic books, United Features Syndicate published Comics on Parade as a showcase for its most popular strips, including Tarzan, Li'l Abner and Nancy. Escaping from the sacrifice, Tarzan sets off after Jane... and Rokoff, in the adaptation of The Beasts of Tarzan with art by Rex Maxon. Slats tries to convince wealthy Gilbert Twytch and his mother to consent to marrying Becky, because he wants Becky to have all the nice things. After accidentally overthrowing Abdul Akbar, Looy and Dilbury try to return to the US in a bizarre aircraft. Plus a Li'l Abner storyline by Al Capp, and an illustrated biography of screen actor Warner Baxter.
