In the original comic strip, Sparky died at this point when his creator Boody Rogers enlisted in World War II; in this reprint, Sparky survives to be drawn by other artists until Rogers' return. Koenig the Nazi spy uses a substitute bullet to throw off suspicions, but Vic Jordan notices strange yellow clay on his shoes that doesn't match his story. Bo the dog's family prepares him for his appearance in the Pet Show.
