    Second or later reprint, 1944. Bill Mauldin, creator of the WWII dogfaces, Willie and Joe, won two Pulitzer Prizes for his humorous and realistic depictions of life as a soldier. Star Spangled Banter was his first collection of single-panel cartoons, originally published in 1941. Besides reprinting cartoons, this collection features a short biography and two short articles he wrote for the 45th Division News.
