"Wizard of the Whirling Doom," art by John Celardo; Kaänga and Ann visit the village of Tonga, where their friend Bonako is to celebrate his chieftanship by use of a ritual bow; The witch doctor, D'Hama, spoils the ceremony by poisoning the bowstring and causing an arrow to be shot from hiding, killing Bonako. Kaänga exposes the trick and D'Hama is killed by the tribe. Untitled story, art by August Froehlich; When lightning starts a forest fire that traps many of the animals of his kingdom, Simba instructs the elephants in the building of a dam, in imitation of some natives he had seen earlier; The dam diverts the river, quenching the fire. Ann, however, remains in a drugged state.
