Several of these early issues included comics versions of the classic Mighty Mouse cartoons; some of the artists worked on the cartoons as well. Oil Can Harry traps Pearl in a block of ice, and Mighty Mouse ventures into the Arctic to thaw her, in an adaptation of the 1949 Mighty Mouse cartoon "A Cold Romance." The Big Bad Wolf is released from prison and faces life on the outside, in an adaptation of the 1947 Terrytoons cartoon "The Wolf's Pardon." Shamus the Leprechaun tries to protect the Irish woodlands from the sinister and gigantic No Good Bear.
