Untitled story, pencils by Joe Doolin; Simba's cubs are taken by mandrills who then lose the cubs to hunting dogs who take the cubs to their white hunter masters; Simba pursues and kills the mandrill king while Mrs. Simba slips into the hunters' camp and frees the cubs. Untitled story, art by Henry Kiefer; Wambi attempts to befriend a lost hunting leopard and helps it escape from Lekko and his tribe; Later, Wambi hurts his ankle and is menaced by the leopards; The hunting leopard comes to his aid and kills Lekko, becoming the king of the leopards. Untitled story, art by Kurt Caesar (as Jack Away); Bertha's mine overseer, in a plan to cover his diamond thefts, convinces Bertha's native laborers to go on strike; When King and Bertha arrive at the mine site, Bertha takes the airplanes control and buzzes the natives, humiliating Sahi, the chief; Sahi orders his men to attack King and Bertha. Sirdah suggests that the animals attack en masse; Wambi objects, fearing his friends will be hurt, but he is overruled. Kaänga visits the tribe and tells the chief and the warriors that he thinks they should trade with Songa; At the trader's camp, the warriors are betrayed by their chief and Songa takes them all captives, including Ann, to be sold as slaves; Kaänga pursues them to the slave auction and frees the slaves and captures Songa. Untitled story, art by Bill Walsh; Competing parties seek a legendary salt mine: white ivory hunters who will trade the salt to natives for their ivory and natives who will trade the salt for needed supplies; Simba, fighting cantankerous leopards, leads each party to the mine.
