In the Comics Code era, some of the original art is altered to remove violent content and narrative repetition. This issue reprints strips from March – April 1940. Tracy investigates the identity of the amnesiac known only as Mary X. It turns out she witnessed a murder, and the killer wants to keep her from remembering at any cost.
