The Godzilla-ish sea monster from the 1961 B-movie becomes the star of this cult-classic Charlton monster comic that frequently featured work by future Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko. An astronaut returning to Earth happens to land in the midst of Gorgo's rampage across New York City. He survives by literally riding Gorgo's head out of the city. A backup story is a speculative look at what it would be like if humans were located elsewhere on the food chain. Cover by Steve Ditko is the archetypal monster-attacking-the-city scene.
