Art by Matt Baker and others. Tales of adventure featuring Rulah, Jungle Goddess, and art by legendary good-girl artist Matt Baker. This, the Feb. 1948 issue, is the first issue #13; a later issue was erroneously numbered 13 as well. A circus promoter uses a boy in his scheme to lure Rulah to New York; Ungar warns Rulah that the spirit of a dead slaver may return to the jungle; Rulah pursues a jungle cult that killed a woman with gold, in a strange premonition of the James Bond adventure Goldfinger. Terrific cover has Rulah battling a snake, leopards and forest fire all at once. More outrageous action and classic pre-Code good-girl art. Stone Jungle; Bloody Moon; Murder Deadline; Plundering Cult. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
