Notable editorial material inside included a crossword puzzle by James Koo, and a Wugga Wugga column by David Scroggy. The cover is a beautiful artistic tribute to Wally Wood by the talented Elton Dorval.

The Buyers Guide for Comic Fandom #169, Feb. 11, 1977. This issue has three sections and 60 pages, featuring a wide variety of editorial material including a Now What? column by Murray Bishoff, and a brand-new column titled Jerseyscene, by Robert Andelman of The Fans of Central Jersey. Jerseyscene features regional news, letters, art, and articles. Andelman later broadened the columns scope and changed its name to The Scene in TBG 197. Also in this issue is a Crusader Comments column by Martin L. Greim. In lieu of his normal column, Greim features Part I of a report about the 1976 New Con. It includes photos and four pages of extensive panel comments by Dick Giordano, Jim Steranko, Gil Kane, and Carl Barks. The report was compiled by Greim, Bob Cosgrove, Don Phelps and Al Bradford. Part II appears in TBG 173 and Part III appears in TBG 180. are two pages of Sonja Con photos by Nick Arroyo. Next are photos and a convention report by Mike LeFebvre of Casual Con, which took place in Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 26, 1976. Finally, there are two crossword puzzles by James Koo. The issues gag Donald Duck cover is by Doug Potter. Written by Russ Maheras

The Buyers Guide for Comic Fandom #170, Feb. 18, 1977. This issue has four sections and 92 pages. No editorial material of note. The Nick Fury cover is by Aaron McClellan and K. Alder (whose full name is unknown). McClellan likely did the pencil, and Alder the inks. McClellan had a hand in three TBG covers: issues 142, 170 (pencils), and 262 (inks). This issue has three sections and 60 pages, Features include a Now What? column by Murray Bishoff; an unattributed The Fans Corner column; a two-page Sylvan Byck interview (with photos) by Shel Dorf for his column Shel Dorf and the Fantasy Makers; and a WE Seal of Approval report page. Also inside is a Crusader Comments column by Martin L. Greim, where, in lieu of his normal column, Greim features Part II of a report about the 1976 New Con. Part II includes three pages of extensive panel comments by Harvey Kurtzman, Gil Kane, John Stanley, Joe Kubert and Barbara Boatman, and was compiled by Greim and Bob Cosgrove. Part I appears in TBG 169 and Part III appears in TBG 180. Finally, there are two miscellaneous pages of art by Alan Jim Hanley. The first is a Marvelman story.
