    Aug. 1934. Picture Play Magazine, originally titled Picture-Play Weekly was an American weekly published magazine centered around the movie industry during the golden-age of Hollywood. It was one of the earliest published tabloid style magazines that focused on celebrity gossip, but also included behind-the-scenes content, and movie reviews. It was first published on April 10, 1915, and ultimately transitioned from a weekly to a monthly publication before the end of it's production run in late 1941 after merging with Charm Magazine. This issue includes Shirley Temple and Alice Faye. Plus reviews, gossip and news. 8 1/2-in. x 11 1/2-in., 68 pages, B&W. Cover price $0.25.
