I'll admit, I'm one of these old school comic book collectors that grew up in the 80s, visiting multiple comic shops in my region and scouring flea markets for hard-to-find copies or rare variants. I enjoy the atmosphere of physically going to hobby or comic shops, getting to know their employees, and fostering lines of credit and friendship with these individuals that goes on for years. That being said, sometimes you just can't find the books you want or the quality grading services you require to complete pieces of a collection. There are so many scams and untrustworthy retailers online these days my patience with trying to take my love of comics digital has worn thin. And despite exhaustive campaigning from Comixology for me to take my entire collection digital, I can't bring myself to forsake the feel, smell, and nostalgic quality afforded a fan by the printed page. After doing extensive research across multiple internet sources, I decided to take a chance with MyComicShop when it came time to order specific graded issues of some older comics to round out certain areas of my comic collection. I'm a bag-and-board guy myself, and when it comes to buying comics where my favorite heroes are the star character, I prefer to purchase graded editions wherever possible. I ordered two books from MyComicShop and paid for the expedited shipping valued at $10. Estimated shipping time on the website listed 3-5 business days. Estimated time of delivery according to MyComicShop's website had the books arriving at their final destination on Thursday, having ordered both books Monday morning. The books arrived early afternoon Wednesday. Both comics were packaged pristinely and the books were perfectly and professionally bagged and boarded by someone who obviously cares a great deal about comics and minimizing wear-and-tear to them. One of the books was graded at an 8.0, the other at a 7.5. Both arrived in wonderful condition. You'd need a jeweler's microscope or some of the shrewdest eyes in the business to be able to tell they're not anything less than an 8.5 or even 9 unless you physically press the book up against your face. I was extremely satisfied by all aspects of this purchase. I was satisfied with the ease of locating the books I was trying to find on MyComicShop's website. I was extremely satisfied by the graded quality of the books. I was both stunned by how well the books were packaged and how swiftly they arrived. This is absolutely how you earn return business, and you've certainly earned mine. You'll hear from me again before long.
