JSA The Liberty File (2000) 1

WRITTEN BY DAN JOLLEY, TONY HARRIS AND RAY SNYDER; ART BY HARRIS AND SNYDER; PAINTED COVER BY HARRIS ELSEWORLDS. In stores December 8. World War II is the setting for an atmospheric miniseries starring heroes very much like Batman, Superman and the Golden Age Justice Society of America. In 1942, as war rages around the globe, a vicious albino smuggler intercepts a parcel intended for the Axis powers, a parcel whose contents could change the outcome of the war. The always grinning ne'er-do-well plans to sell the item to the highest bidder, but the Allies have other plans, and send their top covert agents to claim the mysterious package. Now "Owl," "Clock," "Bat" and a host of other very familiar costumed characters battle for the safety of an Elseworld in JSA: THE LIBERTY FILES, a 2-issue Prestige miniseries by the Doctor Strange: Servant of Bones team of co-writer Dan Jolley and co-writers/artists Tony Harris and Ray Snyder. In addition to interior pencils, Harris also provides stirring painted covers for both issues of THE LIBERTY FILES, and even STARMAN readers familiar with his intepretations of classic Golden Age characters will be surprised at how well he integrates the JSA, Batman, Robin, and others into unexpected settings, facing Egyptian thugs, Nazi troops and undead assassins, among them a deadly monster known as the Scarecrow. As the fate of the world hangs in the balance, heroes change allegiances, fall prey to horrible fates, and stand together in the face of a threat no one could have anticipated: an alien super-man who serves the Nazi cause. Little Miss Sunbeam Comics Bread Giveaway (1957) 0

Sir Clacky Wack & Miss Sunbeam in the Zany Scientist! Adventures of Little Miss Sunbeam, the bread-company mascot created by Ellen Segner. Sunny and her friend, the clown Sir Clacky Wack (think Clarabell the Clown in a bowler) outwit a scientist whose device can duplicate anything, apparently, except Sunbeam bread. This is the 1957 edition. A 1961 edition was also published. 16 pages, Full Color.

    Little Nemo (1969 Reprint) 1969

    • Staple rust.

This is a 1969 reprint published by Nostalgia Press. It reprints the original 1945 edition published by McCay Features Synidicate. In all essential features, the two editions are identical so collectors need to be aware that any copy they encounter is most likely the reprint. Wider than it is tall, this comic is 36-pages (including covers, size 11-in. x 7-in., two-tone black and brown ink cover with black and white interior pages, reprinting 14 classic Windsor McKay Sunday pages from 1905 to 1911. Introduction (13 August 1945) by author August Derleth. NOTE: Overstreet states that the original 1945 edition and the 1969 reprint are identical. However, the 1969 edition does have 36 pages (counting covers), so the 1945 edition, which Overstreet says has 24 pages, would be smaller at 24 pages assuming covers were not counted, or even at 28 pages if covers are added to the page count. Our guess is that both editions have 36 pages.
