French Edition. Marvel Comics Super Special #7, by writer David Anthony Kraft and artists George Pérez and Jim Mooney. This premature adaptation of the film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was promoted on the "Bullpen Bulletins" page in Marvel Comics cover-dated January 1979, but was never published in the U.S. "because the book was late and the movie proved to be a commercial failure," according to a contemporaneous news account. French, French-Canadian, and Dutch editions are known to exist, though. Check individual item notes and scans to see which edition we're offering.
Penciller George Perez said of this elusive issue, "... we didn't realize that the [movie] script was still in so much flux that things we were putting in the comic were not going to appear in the movie and things we didn't know about were going to be added to the movie. The plot was so convoluted and cheesy — even on the printed page — and after a while we realized it was not really going anywhere. They said they were going to have all these superstars appear at the end of the film and, of course, in the end they couldn't get them — not that we could have used them anyway, because we didn't have the licenses to use their likenesses.... It was just one disaster after another. It was one of the nadirs of my career. I was so grateful that the book never got an American release. I've yet to see a copy of Sgt. Pepper." Convention Exclusive Cover by Mike Wolfer - Limited to 1000 copies. Written by John Russo and Mike Wolfer. Art by Fabio Jensen. In 1968, the film Night of the Living Dead redefined modern horror. Now, writer John Russo unleashes the next chapter in the zombie epic: Night of the Living Dead: New York! This special, self-contained, double-sized tale of unrelenting terror details the attack of flesh-eating ghouls on the unsuspecting populace of America's largest city, as the island of Manhattan becomes an inescapable death-trap. Mistakenly thought to be contained in remote, rural areas, the army of the undead has crept through the night, converging of the largest concentration of fresh meat on the East Coast, and with nowhere to run and no hope for escape, all those in the path of the zombie horde face certain, gut-ripping death as undead, cannibalistic murderers stalk the streets of the city that never sleeps! Cover price $4.99.

Written by Ian Smith. Art and Cover by Tyson Smith. Final issue! For such a small town, Spiral City attracts some of the oddest happenings ever. Moe is hot on the secret to why the city is plagued by the bizarre, but his past is catching up to him. It doesn't help matters that his past includes an 80ft. mutated armadillo. Issue #8 sees the return of Armagon, the end of the series, and cameos from thousands of Spiral City's less-known inhabitants. Is this the end for Moe? Will all be answered? Are there any answers, or have the creators been piecing the plots together from Bazooka Joe wrappers and re-runs of Benson? One thing is for certain -- buildings will crumble like cardboard and plaster! 32 pages, B&W. Cover price $2.95.
