If You Don't Watch Out!", script by Steve Englehart, pencils by Marie Severin and Bob Brown, inks by Frank McLaughlin; On the way to their friend Tom Fagan in Rutland, Vermont, Marvel Bullpen members Roy Thomas, his wife Jeannie, Steve Englehart, Gerry Conway, Len Wein and his wife Glynis are startled into a stop when the Beast jumps into the path of their car; Beast darts into the woods where he changes back into his civilian guise of Hank McCoy and reunites with his old girlfriend Vera Cantor to tell her that he managed to flag down a car to finish their trip; Exiting the woods they introduce themselves to the drivers and manage to hitch a ride with them at least to Rutland; As they drive off, a portal appears and out pops the Juggernaut who is exhilarated that he is back on Earth; Juggernaut attacks Beast. Appearances by the Juggernaut, Roy Thomas, Steve Englehart, Len Wein, Glynis Wein, and Gerry Conway. The Avengers and Spider-Man appear on the cover (but are really people dressed up as our heroes); the real Avengers and Spidey are not in the story. Cameos by Dr. Strange and Eternity (the real ones). "Fake" cameos (people dressed up in costumes) include Medusa, Superman, Supergirl, Spider-Man, the Scarlet Witch, Batman, the Flash, Cyclops, and Nighthawk. 36 pgs, full color. $0.20.

    Justice League of America (1960 1st Series) 103

    Cover art by Nick Cardy. A Stranger Walks among Us!, script by Len Wein, pencils by Dick Dillin, inks by Dick Giordano; Phantom Stranger invited to join the Justice League; story takes place in Rutland Vt. NOTE: This story is part of a trilogy revolving around Rutland, Vermont's Halloween parade hosting by Tom Fagan. Two stories were printed by Marvel Comics during this time which also are located in Rutland, Vermont. They are Thor #207 and Amazing Adventures #16. Further a number of the parade goers are dressed up in costumes of super-heroes that were not part of DC Comics Earth-One continuity. Aside from the Earth-Two (JSA) and Earth-S (Shazam) costumes, there were reasonable facsimile of popular Marvel Comics characters. They included: "Commando America", based on Captain America, "Thunder God" based on Marvel's Thor, An unnamed arachnid character resembling Spider-Man. 36 pgs. $0.20.

Plot crossover with Rutland stories in Amazing Adventures 16 and the Justice League of America 103 (DC Comics). The Bullpen staff was pencilled by Marie Severin from John Buscema layouts; finished art by Vince Colletta. Gil Kane/Joe Sinnott cover.
