Written by Gerard Jones. Art by George Pérez and Al Vey. Cover by George Pérez. In this stunning prequel to #1, Prime, Hardcase and Prototype begin assembling the UltraForce team to defend themselves against the coming onslaught of Atalon and to combat the public's growing fear of ultras. Seeing himself as a savior and hero, Prime calls upon all other ultras to join him in forming a group that would be the "watchmen" of all ultras. But Prime's really only a kid. Hardcase never wants to be part of another team again after what happened to the Squad. And Prototype -- he might just have too big an ego for anybody to take. They will be joined by two other ultras, Contrary and Pixx. It all begins here, as the pieces fall into place and pave the way for a new force in the universe -- an UltraForce! NOTE: this is a reprinting of the two-part story that originally came with Wizard the Comics Magazine (1991) #35 and #36, collected for the first time. 32 pages, full color. Cover price $2.50.
