Former flapper Blondie tries to adjust to a settled suburban existence with her new husband, Dagwood Bumstead. Each one-page strip has a title added for this edition. Dagwood's method for smoothing his hair back doesn't win Blondie's approval; Blondie experiences empty-nest syndrome when "Baby Dumpling" grows up into schoolboy Alexander; Blondie gets jealous when Dagwood rescues a lady swimmer.
