Stories by Robert Storm. Art and cover by Charles Flanders. Pioneering comics publisher David McKay's Feature Book was the first US comic book to devote complete issues to a single character. This issue reprinted Secret Agent X-9 daily strips from 1937. This was a comic strip created by writer Dashiell Hammett (The Maltese Falcon) and artist Alex Raymond (Flash Gordon). At the time of these strips, the strip was maintained by artist Charles Flanders and various King Features writers under the house pseudonym Robert Storm. X-9 tracks down diamond smuggler Eve Nicol, and canoodles with investigative reporter and future love interest Joan Silton. 9-in. x 12-in., 72 pages, B&W.
