Whitman reprints its adaptation of the 1932 King Kong novelization to coincide with the release of the 1976 remake. Director Carl Denham is famous for his "Bring 'Em Back Alive" style of filmmaking. But when he takes his crew and beautiful leading lady Ann Darrow to Skull Island, they find a bigger beast than they bargained for. After facing deadly creatures, Denham and his crew manage to rescue Ann and capture Kong. "King" Kong makes history in New York, but not the way that Carl Denham had hoped.
