Tabloid newspaper parody (the Dacron [OH] Republican-Democrat) with separate sections featuring national/international news, Metro, Living Life/Sports, Leisure/Travel, and comics (in full color!). There are even parodies of Parade Magazine, local magazine, and Swillmart advertising flyer. Conceived and edited by P.J. O'Rourke; written by O'Rourke, John Hughes (who went on to become a famous screenwriter of National Lampoon's Vacation, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, et al.), Ted Mann, and Tod Carroll, with additional material by Douglas C. Kenney, Bruce McCall, and Denis Boyles. Designed and art directed by Skip Johnston.
