Volume 1 - st printing. "1934-1935!" By Al Capp. Considered by many to be the greatest comic strip of all time, Li'l Abner started on a Monday in August of 1934 and ran consecutively for forty-three years. It became syndicated in over 900 newspapers worldwide and was avidly followed by millions. Creator Al Capp's commentary on almost every facet of the national scene was jeered by some and cheered by many. This first volume reprints the 1934-1935 daily strips and includes an introduction by Capp's widow, Catherine Capp. Also included are articles about Capp's early years on Abner and its characters.
