Dr. Doom!", script by Stan Lee, pencils by Don Heck, inks by Dick Ayers; Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver recieve a letter from their Aunt in Latveria and decide to visit her; When they arrive they are jailed and discover it is a trap set up by Doctor Doom, who decides defeating the Avengers will instill fear in to the Fantastic Four,making them easy to defeat; The Fantastic Four attempt to assist the Avengers, but are not allowed, as interference could spark an international incident; Nevertheless, the Avengers escape and fight Doom to a standstill, where he causes a diversion and escapes. Avengers roll call: Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch. Guest appearance by the Fantastic Four. Letter to the editor from writer Steve Utley. "Frenzy in a Far-Off Land," script by Stan Lee, pencils by Don Heck, inks by Frank Giacoia; Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch take a leave of absence from the Avengers due to their dwindling powers; Goliath also sets off to South America to try and find a cure, hearing his old college professor Dr. Anton is there; Black Widow is ordered to destroy the Avengers again with the help of the Swordsman and Power Man; The Avengers find the Black Widow and co. but Hawkeye wants to go alone, as it is personal to him; Meanwhile, Goliath lands in South America and finds Dr. Anton has been captured by the Keeper of the Flame; He tries to save him, but is overwhelmed then brought to safety by Prince Rey, who leads a rebel force against the Keeper; Hawkeye defeats the Swordsman but is trapped by Power Man; The Black Widow saves him, finding herself unable to harm Hawkeye as she loves him; Captain America and the Wasp leave to help Goliath. "Never Bug a Giant!", script by Stan Lee, pencils by Don Heck, inks by Frank Giacoia; Captain America, The Wasp and Hawkeye leave for South America to help Goliath; Meanwhile, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch realise how badly they like being Avengers and hope their powers return soon; Goliath and Prince Rey escape to Prince Rey's rebel hideout; He explains how the Keeper controls a powerful cobalt flame, capable of destroying the world; Goliath realizes Prince Rey only wants the flame for his own desires and leaves him; Goliath attacks the Keeper and gets captured; The other Avengers attack and also get captured with the exception of the Wasp; Prince Rey's forces attack the Keeper's, while at the same time, the Wasp frees all the Avengers; Hawkeye smothers the flame with explosive arrows, destroying it.
