Newsstand Edition. His name is Lobo. His job is intergalactic bounty hunter. His methods are insane. From the pages of L.E.G.I.O.N. '90 comes the wild, unchained, devil-may-care character you love to hate in his first solo mini-series. And if you thought he was out of control before, wait until you see what happens here. You see, Lobo is the last survivor of his race...an entire civilization that he personally annihilated just because he wanted to be unique in the universe. But Lobo seems to have missed one, and now that survivor's gone and written an unauthorized biography of Lobo, which doesn't make our maniac very happy. But what's really got Lobo miffed is that he's accepted a contract from L.E.G.I.O.N. to escort his biographer across the universe to their headquarters - delivered alive! Of course, Lobo manages to make a few enemies along the way, complicating his mission as these factions embark on a wild chase across the cosmos to see who will get to Lobo first. Written by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant, with art and painted cover by Simon Bisley. New Format. Cover price $0.99.

In space, no one can hear you frag. By popular demand, Lobo hits the comic shops in his very own ongoing monthly series, without a 'Suggested for Mature Readers' label! Now everyone can get in on the action and fun month after month. It's the Lobo series you've been clamoring for - an action-packed fragfest, brimming over with good-natured gratuitous violence and twisted humor. The series gets under way with Lobo out on a typically destructive night on the town. What follows is a stop at Al's Diner for a few brews with some appalling violence, and then a trip to the local bounty office where the Main Man takes an assignment to bring in Qigly, the universe's most feared, loathed and powerful...accountant. Things take an ugly turn when Lobo meets heavy opposition from the Dead Boys, a bunch of bastiches with their own reasons for holding onto Qigly. Written by Alan Grant, with art and foil-embossed cover by Val Semeiks and John Dell. New Format. Cover price $2.95.

Lobo goes on a rampage and an innocent bystander lands in the hospital. So what else is new?! It may be business as usual for Lobo, but not for John Doe, the Main Man's aforementioned innocent victim and the subject of LOBO: PORTRAIT OF A VICTIM. The hilarity begins as Doe has a typical bad day at home with the family and decides to go out with his buds for a beer. Unluckily for him, Lobo was meeting his date in the same sleazy bar. What happens next is a healthy dose of Lobo-style fraggin' fun - ultraviolent, extraraucous and semifatal for that poor sap, John Doe. Written by Alan Grant, with art by Val Semeiks and John Dell. Painted cover by Glenn Fabry. New Format. Cover price $1.75.

Heaven can wait. Hell can't. From the pages of THE SANDMAN comes LUCIFER, a new ongoing VERTIGO series starring the ultimate rebel. When fallen angel Lucifer Morningstar asked Dream of the Endless to sever his wings so he could walk among mortals, the former Lord of Hell thought he was making the right decision. But managing a piano bar in L.A. has lost its charm, and now the darkest star in the City of Angels is ready to get back in the game. Only this time he'd rather play God. Written by Mike Carey (THE SANDMAN PRESENTS: LUCIFER), with art on the first three-issue story arc by Chris Weston (THE INVISIBLES) and James Hodgkins (BATMAN) and stunning cover art by Duncan Fegredo (ENIGMA, TOTEMS), LUCIFER finds the title character facing a dilemma. At the end of THE SANDMAN PRESENTS: LUCIFER miniseries, Lucifer was left in possession of a "letter of passage" from God himself...a passport to any realm the bearer desires. Is the letter what it seems ? a one-way ticket that could restore Lucifer to either Heaven or Hell ? or just the latest move in a subtle game designed to remove him from the face of Creation? A saga of biblical proportions begins in LUCIFER #1, as Morningstar travels to Germany to find the answers to his questions by consulting a living tarot deck guarded by an angel. But getting a reading from the cards is harder than Lucifer expected, as the living deck takes the opportunity to escape its angelic guard and seek a new, mortal host...warping and reshaping the lives of everyone it touches along the way.Among those the deck transforms are three members of LUCIFER's diverse supporting cast ? a lonely bookworm whose secret desire may prove his undoing; a struggling female cabaret performer offered a Faustian bargain for wealth, fame and eternal life; and a young initiate in a neo-Nazi gang who may have gone too far in his quest for status and acceptance ? whose personal journeys are a crucial part of the series. From the seamy streets of Hamburg to the exotic Japanese underworld, Lucifer will face enemies with grudges as old as creation and make new allies who may be even deadlier than his foes in the ultimate quest to construct a brave new universe in his own image. This project is supported with a 4-color poster; a 16-page "flip book" preview (shared with SWAMP THING). Suggested for mature readers. Cover price $2.50.

Special Collector's edition (direct ed.). Published just a few months after Crisis on Infinite Earths, John Byrne's The Man of Steel updated the saga of Superman for modern audiences. His origin was altered, as were many other aspects of the character. This first issue reveals that Kal-El was conceived via the mingling of seeds in a matrix chamber, Clark's powers developed slowly over time (meaning Superboy was written out of continuity), and Superman's body projected an aura that protected his now vulnerable costume. Written and drawn by John Byrne, with inks by Dick Giordano. Cover price $0.75.

Published just a few months after Crisis on Infinite Earths, John Byrne's The Man of Steel updated the saga of Superman for modern audiences, changing certain aspects of the character in the process. In this issue Lois Lane drives off a pier in order to get Superman's attention so she can interview him for The Daily Planet. In addition, Clark writes his first story for the Planet. Unlike the pre-Crisis Lois Lane, the revised Lois doesn't spend time trying to uncover Superman's secret identity (since no one knows he has a secret identity). Written and drawn by John Byrne, with inks by Dick Giordano. Cover price $0.75.
