Foodini's latest invention, the "Futuro-scope" (which looks like an early TV set), is damaged by Pinhead just before the judges of the magic contest arrive. Monkey Doodles the organ-grinder's monkey is such a hit with the kids that he decides to try out for television, but the organ grinder warns him that TV is a harsh mistress. Professor Max and his assistant villain make magical mischief for Foodini, but Foodini's latest invention "Atomic Food" knocks them for a loop. Magic tricks explained by Foodini. Craig loves Amy, but since she rejected him as "a common street laborer," he's trying to get back at her through her sister Cora, or at least that's how Amy sees it. This story features early art by Bob Powell. Teresa must run the family farm after her father's passing, and handsome farmhand Jim can help, but he sees Teresa's workaholic nature as a minus. Redheaded Helen is still mourning her sister's death, and tries to sabotage her widowed brother-in-law's new relationship with Mildred as a result.
