"On the Trail of the Chameleon!" Script by Stan Lee. Art by John Buscema (layouts) and Jim Mooney (finishes). Cover by John Romita. Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy meet for a date at the Midtown Museum to see its new exhibit of priceless paintings. And also at the museum is Gwen's father...who is in charge of security for the evening. So when the paintings are shockingly stolen, Captain Stacy gets blamed for the theft! Peter knows the trusted police captain would never do that. So who did? Ultimately, the web-slinger remembers the name of the Chameleon...and sets a trap for the master of disguise! However the Chameleon is crafty, and he eludes Spider-Man's trap -- until the faceless villain makes a very big mistake! Cameo appearances by Flash Thompson, Harry Osborn, J. Jonah Jameson, and Joe
Robertson. (Notes: The wall-crawler previously encountered the Chameleon in Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) #15. This story was reprinted in Marvel Tales #61.) 32 pages.
Cover price $0.15.
