Ziff-Davis's pre-Code horror comic only lasted one issue before Avon took exception to their use of the title "Eerie." This comic was mentioned in the text (pp. 317-318) of Dr. Fredric Wertham's anti-comics classic Seduction of the Innocent. Two brothers rescue a stranded space traveler, who repays them by planting blood-sucking vines in their cellar. A criminal on the run kills a scientist and tries to escape into "the fourth dimension." A chess tournament becomes a game with Death. Plus one-pagers about various ghosts.
