The web-slinger will find out soon when he battles her and that pesky eight-legged doppelganger several hours later! As for Carnage, he's going to pay a visit to J. "The Hatred, the Horror and the Hero!" Maximum Carnage, Part 14 of 14. Script by Tom DeFalco. Chapter 1 - Art by Mark Bagley (breakdowns) and Sam de la Rosa (finishes). Chapter 2 - Art by Ron Lim (pencils), Jim Sanders III (inks), and Sam de la Rosa (inks). Cover by Ron Lim and Jim Sanders III. Story continues from Spectacular Spider-Man 203. In shocking fashion Carnage jumps out of Central Park Lake! Oh no, all the police and superheroes (besides the web-slinger) left a while ago thinking the bloodthirsty super-villain was dead! But he's still alive! And that means the Maximum Carnage saga is not over yet! Venom and Spider-Man battle Carnage first in Central Park, then at the St. Estes Home in Brooklyn, and finally in an old cemetery! Can the wondrous wall-crawler at long last corral Carnage? And also keep Venom from killing his symbiote offspring? After fourteen issues there's no telling how this tale will end! Appearances by the Black Cat, Mary Jane Watson, Aunt May, Richard Parker LMD, Mary Parker LMD, Liz Osborn, Normie Osborn, Thunderstrike, Sersi, and the Vision. Cameo appearances by Morbius and Nightwatch. Second Story: "Other People's Dreams." Script by Kurt Busiek. Pencils by Steven Butler. Inks by Bud LaRosa. The web-slinger clashes with Megawatt! Cameo appearance by Mary Jane Watson. Flashback cameos by Daredevil and Dr. Jonas Harrow. (Notes: Carnage returns in Amazing Spider-Man Annual 28. This issue is printed on glossy paper. The Maximum Carnage storyline was reprinted in 1994 in the trade paperback Spider-Man Maximum Carnage.) 64 pages. Cover price $3.95.

"An Obituary for Octopus" Script by Tom DeFalco. Pencils by Ron Lim. Inks by Jim Sanders III. Cover by Ron Lim and Jim Sanders III. Peter Parker and Ben Urich investigate a burglary at one of the leading AIDS research facilities in New York City! To the web-slinger's surprise, the thief was none other than Doctor Octopus! Why is the wall-crawler's long-time foe stealing AIDS-infected blood? Is this some new sinister scheme by the super-villain with six arms? When Spider-Man tracks Doc Ock to his underground laboratory, the startling truth is revealed! Could Otto Octavius actually be working on a cure for the deadly AIDS virus?! (Note: This story reveals new details about Dr. Octopus' childhood and adolescent years.) Second Story: "Corona in Captive Fire" Script by Kurt Busiek. Pencils by Aaron Lopresti. Inks by Sam DeLaRosa. Corona is back! Where has she been since Spectacular Spider-Man 176? Apparently she's connected with a criminal organization now! But the web-slinger vows to help her get out of trouble, even if that means teaming up with her arrogant brother Cedric! Cameo appearances by Dr. Henry Pym and the Beast. Third Story: "Ren-Tech's Revenge" Script by Jack C. Harris. Pencils by Jesse Orozco. Inks by Mark Stegbauer. It's the second adventure of Annex! (Notes: Annex appears next in his self-titled limited series. This issue is printed on glossy paper.) 64 pages Cover price $3.95.

"The Man Who Would Be Spider-Man!" Script by Tom DeFalco. Pencils by Ron Lim. Inks by Scott Hanna, Al Milgrom, and Keith Williams. Cover by Ron Lim and Jim Sanders III. While stopping a robbery in progress, the wondrous wall-crawler is unmasked! And in a remarkable coincidence, Lance Bannon happens to be nearby to snap a picture! Will Peter Parker's secret identity be exposed? Apparently not, because in the next day's newspaper, the Daily Bugle misidentifies the web-slinger as a guy named Phil. What?! And to make the situation even more bizarre, Phil holds a news conference to announce his new not-for-profit Spider-Man foundation…and line of retail products! The real wall-crawler is stunned by Phil's audacity and vows to get to the bottom of this mystery! And the operative word in this case is definitely "mystery" (or perhaps Mysterio)! Second Story: "Still Living in Fear" Script by Kurt Busiek. Pencils by Kevin West. Inks by Jimmy Palmiotti. Bloodshed (last seen in Web of Spider-Man 81) is still on the run from the crime syndicate that's trying to kill him! And once again the Spectacular Spider-Man will try to protect him from the bad guys and himself! Third Story: "Just a Joe Named Guy" Script by Carl Potts. Pencils by Dan Norton. Inks by Keith Williams. The web-slinger chases the Rhino and bumps into a powerful creature named Guy. (Notes: The title of the third story is a takeoff on the classic story in Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) 38. This issue is printed on glossy paper.) 64 pages Cover price $3.95.
