United's anthology featured reprints of early comic strips, including Abbie an' Slats, Captain and the Kids and Nancy. The new format that started with issue #84 allows for larger reprints of Raeburn van Buren's detailed art on "Abbie an' Slats." Slats and Becky finally get married, after years of false starts and missed opportunities. But then Bathless tells them that the "preacher" who married them is actually con man "Bless You" Bailey. Then Slats is lost in the woods and presumed dead, but saved from attacking wolves by beautiful cowgirls. Never a dull moment!
