"Trail of Thunder" text story. "The Poachers!", art by Fred Kida; The Ringo Kid comes to the aid of his friend Dull Knife who has been tied up by and places on his horse by a gang of poachers led by a man named Tarlowe; The Kid sends Tarlowe and his men into fleeing and frees Dull Knife; He learns from his friend that Tarlowe and his men have been poaching buffalo on Comanche land which threatens to send the Comanches on the warpath. Vol. 6 #17 - 1955. Science Fantasy, which later became Impulse and then SF Impulse, was a UK published science-fiction and fantasy digest that began production in the Summer of 1950 and was distributed by Nova Publications as a companion to Nova's New Worlds. When Nova went out of business in early 1964, The title was changed to Impulse in early 1966, to little avail, and then changed once more to SF Impulse for the last few issues. Science Fantasy ceased publication the following year, after the printer went bankrupt. Edited by John Carnell. Stories by Brian Aldiss, Judith Merrill, John Brunner and others. Cover by Quinn. 5 1/4-in. x 7 3/4-in., 132 pages, black and white.
