Peanuts Friends Forever TPB (2015 Ballantine Books) 1-1ST

1st printing. Story and art by Charles M. Schulz. An original collection of full-color comic strips featuring the whole Peanuts gang - Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, and more - just in time for the 65th anniversary of the strip and the release of their first feature-length 3D film! Charlie Brown may be the most prominent character, and Snoopy the most loveable, but it's when the whole gang gets together that the real magic of Charles Schulz's iconic comic strip happens. In this collection of strips, never before published together in one book, Linus waits up all night for the Great Pumpkin, Peppermint Patty tries-and fails-to whip Charlie Brown's losing baseball team into shape, Lucy proves time and again that she can't be trusted with a football, and these beloved friends remind us why Peanuts remains the most popular comic series of all time. Softcover, 9-in. x 9-in., 196 pages, full color. Cover price $16.00.

Pearls Before Swine: Lions and Tigers and Crocs, Oh My! TPB (2006 AM) 1-1ST

    (see more images)

    1st printing.

Story and art by Stephan Pastis.

In this, Pearls Before Swine treasury, you'll know you're not in Kansas anymore. The Pearls Before Swine crew are at it again in their new book, Lions and Tigers and Crocs, Oh My! But even the wonderful Wizard of Oz couldn't help this bunch of merry misfits. Collecting strips from his last two books, Nighthogs and The Ratvolution Will Not Be Televised, cartoonist Stephan Pastis takes you on a magically malicious journey over the rainbow and into the rat trap of Lions and Tigers and Crocs, Oh My! As in the previous Pearls treasury collection, Sgt. Piggy's Lonely Hearts Club Comic, the comic strips are annotated, as only the smart-alecky, misanthropic-but-lovable Pastis can do. Following his yellow brick road of notes, readers gain great insights into the making of such classic Pearls bits as Rat's stint as a New York Times reporter, Angry Bob, Pig's plastic surgery, the Mallet o' Understanding, Mrs. Bootyworth, and the fraternal order of the Zeeba Zeeba Eetas.

A special bonus feature included in Lions and Tigers and Crocs is "The Good, the Banned, and the Ugly," a section of never-before-published and unedited Pearls strips. So go, as fast as lightning, to the Emerald City-or the cash register-and buy this book, before a twister drops a Box o' Stupid People on you!

    Softcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 264 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $19.99.

Pearls Before Swine: Nighthogs TPB (2005 Andrews McMeel) 1-1ST

    1st printing.

    By Stephan Pastis.

Pearls Before Swine was voted the Best Comic Strip of 2003 by the National Cartoonists Society, and in Nighthogs, the strip's third collection, Stephan Pastis proves that his strip is one of the sharpest, funniest comics in newspapers. You never know who you'll bump into at a diner at night. It could be a rat with an anger-management problem. Or an overly sentimental pig. Or a zebra with a story or two to tell about a crocodile. Or even a goat who just wants to be left alone.

Welcome to Nighthogs, where the door is always open, the light is always on, and the coffee is as scorching as the humor.

In this third collection of the immensely popular Pearls Before Swine, Stephan Pastis again takes us into the world of Rat, Pig, Zebra, and Goat, and he shows once more just how outrageous-and how hilarious-the unpredictable can be. Always surprising (and only occasionally depraved), Pearls Before Swine is one of the sharpest comic strips in newspapers today. So pull up a stool, have a cup of joe, and enjoy.

    Softcover, 8-in. x 8-in., 128 pages. B&W. Cover price $10.99.

  • Issue #1-1ST
Pearls Before Swine: The Crass Menagerie TPB (2008 AM) 1-1ST

    1st printing.

Story and art by Stephan Pastis.

Stephan Pastis sketches this nuanced comic strip tale, which features the arrogant, self-centered, and totally hilarious Rat, who leads his four-legged friends through misadventure after misadventure. Joining him for the journey are Pig, the slow but good-hearted conscience of the strip; Goat, the voice of reason that often goes unheard; and Zebra and the eternally inept Crocodiles who pursue him. Together this mindful menagerie mocks the flaws and shortcomings of human nature through Pastis's cynically biting wit.

The third Pearls Before Swine treasury, this book combines all the cartoons from Da Brudderhood of Zeeba Zeeba Eata and The Sopratos, along with annotations by Pastis. From courtroom antics to references of other cartoon strips, Pastis's strip is a fresh presence on the comic pages.

    Softcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 264 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $18.99.

Made in America, Pearls Before Swine stars Rat, the boss of this outfit - arrogant, self-centered, and quick tempered. Pig is the conscience. Zebra is a survivor, and Goat is the brains. Duck is Pig's loyal but violent and unstable guard duck. The dark, twisted adventures of this bunch of goodfellas have made Pearls the fastest growing comic strip of the decade. Softcover, 8" x 9", 128 pages, B&W. Cover price $10.99.

Softcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 248 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $18.99.
