A parody of Mickey Spillane's hard-boiled "Mike Hammer" detective novels, with art by MAD legend Jack Davis, provoked controversy in the 1950s. The parody of Clement Moore's "The Night Before Christmas" with art by MAD legend Will Elder, is the legendary story that got Panic banned in Boston. The final page is a Christmas message from EC to its fans, featuring drawings of the entire EC staff and artists.
