Standoff Part 3 of 3. "Standoff" Script by Geoff Johns. Pencils by Alan Davis. Inks by Mark Farmer. Cover by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer. Story continues from Iron Man (3rd series) #64. It's avenger vs. avenger in the war-torn country of Slokovia! And it's two of the all-time heavyweights: the Invincible Iron Man vs. the Mighty Thor! The new Lord of Asgard is in Slokovia to protect his followers from persecution! But Shell-Head can't let Thor overthrow the existing government and destabilize the entire region. Adding to the crisis is the fact that Latveria is next door to Slokovia! And Doctor Doom is keenly watching the events unfold. When Captain America tries to intervene in the epic fight, he experiences the power of mjolnir first hand! Can the Big Three resolve the situation in Slokovia...and save their long-time friendships at the same time? Alas, that doesn't seem possible. A tremendous issue! Cameo appearances by Ant-Man, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Balder the Brave, Enchantress, Lady Sif, and the Warriors Three. (Notes: The covers of Thor #58, Iron Man #64, and Avengers #63 form one large illustration. This three-part story was reprinted in 2003 in the trade paperback: Thor Gods on Earth.) 32 pages. Cover price $2.25.

"Sight Unseen" Script by Geoff Johns. Pencils by Ivan Reis. Inks by Oclair Albert. Cover by Ivan Reis and Oclair Albert. Since the events of Avengers 181 several years ago, the relationship between Sam Wilson and Peter Gyrich has been strained. And their mutual animosity has only increased in recent days since Cap asked the Falcon to keep a close eye on Gyrich following his appointment as the Avengers' U.N. liaison. But after the Falcon and Redwing rescue two children -- who are neighbors of Gyrich -- from the clutches of the Scarecrow, the two men begin to reach an understanding. Maybe they can work together and help one another. And that could be very important as the U.S. Secretary of Defense presses Gyrich to reveal the Avengers' secrets! (Notes: This story was reprinted in 2013 in the trade paperback: Avengers by Geoff Johns The Complete Collection #2. The TPB collects issues #64 thru #76.) 32 pages. Cover price $2.25.
