The third of Charlton's trifecta of monster comics based on 1961 monster B-movies, after Konga and Gorgo. Almost completely destroyed at the end of his first rampage, the monster survives in a single fragment in the ocean, which regenerates as it drifts south. Having escaped the Arctic, the Big R turns up in Africa, where visiting scientists join forces with Masai warriors to battle it. A backup science story talks about some of the deadlier creatures of the sea, including killer whales, moray eels and sharks. Final issue under this title; series continues as Reptisaurus (1962) #3.
