Avengers Disassembled - Chaos Part 3 of 4. Guest-starring Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Fantastic Four. Script by Brian Michael Bendis. Pencils by David Finch. Inks by Danny Miki. Cover by David Finch and Danny Miki. In a tremendous display of support, over thirty super-heroes gather at the front gate of Avengers Mansion -- to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes in their darkest hour. The group of heroes consists of many former avengers including the Black Panther, Black Widow, Hercules, Photon, Quasar, Warbird, and Wonder Man. And it's a good thing they are here...because shortly thereafter the Kree armada attacks! Oh my, why are the Kree launching a ground assault on New York City? The Avengers and Nick Fury don't understand why, but they valiantly fight the invasion. Tragically, the Avengers' ace archer sacrifices himself to knock out the Kree's flagship. Then the Kree armada and its soldiers just dissipate and disappear. Earth's Mightiest Heroes still don't know why. But next issue they will learn a valuable lesson: old sins cast long shadows. Cameo appearance by Doctor Strange. 32 pages. Cover price $2.25.

Final issue of the series - Avengers Disassembled - Chaos Part 4 of 4. Double-Sized issue. Guest-starring Doctor Strange. Script by Brian Michael Bendis. Pencils by David Finch. Inks by Danny Miki. Cover by David Finch and Danny Miki. With Earth's Mightiest Heroes a shambles, the Master of the Mystic Arts arrives at Avengers Mansion in astral form. He spins an incredible tale of what is happening to the Avengers. Dr. Strange says it's magic gone awry -- magic being abused for vengeance -- courtesy of the Scarlet Witch. What? How? Why? The Avengers quarrel among themselves as they recall the heartrending events of Avengers West Coast #52 -- in which the Vision and Wanda lost their children. Is it possible that the same young woman who joined the Avengers many years ago [in Avengers (1st series) #16]...would also destroy them many years later? Dr. Strange leads the assembled heroes to the Scarlet Witch's location...and the scene is unbelievable. Who will stop Wanda? Who will save Wanda? What a bitter, bitter, bitter ending for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Cameo appearance by Magneto. (Notes: The epilogue to the Avengers 3rd series and the Disassembled saga occurs in the one-shot: Avengers Finale (2005). This issue reprints 3 pages of Avengers #16 when Wanda and Pietro joined the team. The Scarlet Witch appears next in the Excalibur (2004) 3rd series which leads into the House of M (2005) limited series. New Avengers #1 (legacy issue 504) is published the following month in January 2005.) 48 pages. Cover price $3.50.
