    Looney Laws (1947) 1947

Looney Laws (1947), by Dick Hyman with illustrations by O. Soglow, was published by the Arpy Book Co., Inc. Forward by Jack Benny. This humorous book is filled with outlandish and oft absurd laws. It starts with Alabama and proceeds alphabetically through New Mexico. Some of these Looney Laws are accompanied by funny illustrations. Examples: "It is illegal for a woman to rifle her husband's pockets while he is asleep according to Maryland's code of laws," and "A law in Haley, Nebraska, states that a constable shall at all times remember his manners." The latter of these is even more humorous as the cartoon depicts a mugging in progress as the policeman politely taps the criminal on the shoulder and tips his hat as if to say, "Pardon me, good sir, but might I have a moment of your time?" 96 pages, B&W, cardstock cover, 8.5-in. x 11-in. Marshal Law Secret Tribunal (1993) 2

Written by Pat Mills. Art and cover by Kevin O'Neil. It's alien-fragging time for Marshal Law! The teenaged League of Heroes is being decimated by a horde of alien incubi, and it's up to Marshal Law to save them. But can this hero-hating harbinger of fear and loathing function teamed up with the hyper-eager super-team, The Secret Tribunal? And if slaughtering aliens (and defending snot-nosed super-teens) weren't enough, Marshal Law must fend off the romantic advances of Breathless, the Marilyn Monroe-esque heroine who recharges her powers with sex! But even worse for San Futuro's hero-loathing lawman is when Growing Boy asks him the dreaded question -- "May I be your boy companion?" FC. Cover price $2.95.
