Standard Cover D - Limited to 650 copies. A 48 page deluxe, expanded edition with updated art, new covers, and rarities! Cover by Dave Sim, David Birdsong. Story by Dave Sim. Art by Todd McFarlane, Dave Sim. "Crossing Over!" Guest-starring Cerebus. Todd Mcfarlane's masterful inking style radically changed the aesthetics of comic-books forever. Transforming the 1980s homogeneous bullpen style of the Big 2 to the hyper-dynamic style that dominates the modern era. McFarlane's loose, detailed, energetic art alongside Sims cartoon realism brush and line work highlights the power of each artist in the pages of this new edition of SPAWN No. 10! Still as fresh and relevant today as when it first appeared, Dave Sim and Aardvark-Vanaheim have partnered with The Waverly Press to present Sim's new modified version of this classic tale published nearly three decades ago, expanded with new content and rarities from this comics milestone. While the original edition of SPAWN No. 10 was published in full color, this special edition - at Dave Sims insistence - presents the story in black and white. In the original edition, McFarlane drew what Dave Sim has called the definitive Cerebus (...more people saw Todds Cerebus that one month than had seen my Cerebus in the decade prior to SPAWN No. 10). "Remastered" pages with Dave Sim's new art! Working gingerly and painstakingly around his career-ending (2015) wrist ailment, Sim fulfilled what he calls a last ambition to render the Kitchener Sequence as he originally pictured it. He also redrew the Cerebus figures throughout the issue. B&W. 48pgs.

Shang Chi, making his first appearance, is a master of martial arts and the son of Fu Manchu, a Chinese mandarin and scientist. Fu Manchu sends Shang Chi to England in order to assassinate the evil Dr. Petrie for the common good. Shang Chi reluctantly agrees, but after the deed is done he is confronted by Sir Denis Nayland Smith, a former British intelligence officer who tells him the truth about Fu Manchu; that he is a nearly immortal evil mastermind. Shang Chi travels back to his father's secret lair in New York and renounces him. Text articles by Roy Thomas and Englehart about the creation of Shang-Chi. Ad for Astonishing Tales #21.
