Cover by Walt Kelly. Stories and art by Walt Kelly, Carl Barks, Floyd Gottfredson, Merrill De Maris, Bob Karp, Hubie Karp, Carl Buettner, George Waiss, Veve Risto, Roger Armstrong, Manuel Gonzales, Sylvia Holland, Bill Wright, and Al Taliaferro. Sometimes listed as Vol. 4 #8. The long-running vehicle for Disney character comics featured work by Carl Barks, Floyd Gottfredson, and Pogo's Walt Kelly. In a classic Floyd Gottfredson story from the Mickey Mouse comic strip, Professor Dustibones enlists Mickey for a journey to a land of prehistoric creatures. In a story by Barks, Donald becomes a genius after a blow to the head and creates a new rocket fuel. This story is famous among certain segments of the scientific community for Donald's casual (and coincidental) mention of a rare chemical compound amidst his pseudo-scientific gobbledygook. Plus a one-pager by Kelly that doubles as a victory garden PSA and a contest. The Mad Chemist; Bucky Bug; Mickey Mouse; Tied to the Steak; Out of the Hat into the Fire!; The Victory Garden; Charge!!!; Cricket on the Hearth!; Donald Carries a Spare!; A Patriotic Yank!; Mickey Mouse: In the Land of Long Ago; That's Cooking With Gas! 48 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
