The clouds are quickly building on the horizon for a storm that will split the Marvel Universe down the middle, and the line is drawn here! You will be asked: Whose side are you on? Well, whose side are you on?

Ripped from the pages of NEW AVENGERS comes the explosive hidden story of Marvel Universe's secret past, the secret history of Marvel's most secret team - how they came together, and how they are ripped apart - setting the stage for CIVIL WAR.

Lots, True Believer. The bonds that Spider-Man now forges may very well determine his capacity to withstand the coming storm.

And finally, a mysterious object has fallen from the heavens to crash in the Midwest, and Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four has been called in to try to piece together the mystery surrounding it.

What is it, and how will it lead into CIVIL WAR and the return of a Marvel mainstay?

They say the Allied army's retreat to Dunkirk produced more heroes than any other action in the war -- heroes in bunches of a dozen. Completely cut off, small bands of these hunted men battered their way savagely across France through the might of the Nazi army towards the meeting point, Dunkirk. The miracle of Dunkirk, it was called...and in this story is a reckoning of the blood and sweat and guts it took to work that miracle. Weekly British War comics digest. Gremlins, leprechauns -- call them what you like -- they all had it in for Lieutenant Johnny Dawson. He was the sort of bloke whose Sten would suddenly jam for no reason, or he'd be the one in a million who'd be issued with the grenade with a faulty fuse. Yes, Johnny had a real JINX. He didn't like it, the top brass didn't like it and, most important, Johnny's men didn't like it. In fact, if his luck didn't change soon, he'd have a mutiny on his hands. Commando for Action and Adventure (1993 UK) 4361

Free French Ace - Written by Ferg Handley. Art by Rezzonico. Cover by Ian Kennedy. Although he had been born in France, Mike Perrin grew up in Great Britain and considered himself to be English. Furthermore, he blamed the French and their early surrender to Germany for the deaths of his parents. When Mike passed out as a fighter pilot, his Gallic heritage saw him posted -- mistakenly, he believed -- to a Free French squadron. He didn't want to be there and made no bones about it. This bad attitude was going to get him into a lot of trouble. Weekly British War comics digest. Softcover, 5 1/2-in. x 6 1/2-in., 68 pages, B&W.

Weekly British War comics digest. Softcover, 5 1/2-in. x 6 1/2-in., 68 pages, B&W.

    Denis Kitchen's Chipboard Sketchbook HC (2011) 1-1ST

1st printing. By Denis Kitchen. Following on the heels of The Oddly Compelling Art of Denis Kitchen, an overview of the pioneering underground cartoonist published this summer by Dark Horse Books, Denis Kitchen's Chipboard Sketchbook is comprised of particular kinds of drawings on "chipboard" that Kitchen has done below the radar for many years. Chipboard is the heavy, grainy card stock at the base of writing tablets. The artist started the habit of drawing on this unlikely substance during long, often boring production meetings at Kitchen Sink Press, his former company, when he would flip his notes tablet over and doodle with a combination of the only tools at hand: a Sharpie pen and fine-point Uni-ball pen. With subject matter often extremely bizarre, or, in his own words, even "demented," Kitchen filed these away for many years. They were seen only his close friends and colleagues...until now! Measuring 6.25" x 8.75", this collection features an extra-thick 3mm cover stock (chipboard, of course) with a de-bossed cover image and vertical belly band. The full-color 128-page hardcover was edited and designed by Greg Sadowski and art directed by John Lind, who won a 2009 American Graphic Design Award for their work on Underground Classics (Abrams). Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 128 pages, full color. Mature Readers Cover price $19.95.
